I love my 7840s, but I cant find replacement heads anywhere. C'mon, Braun. Don't let your customers hang out to dry like this.

This product is still being sold but absolutely no spare foils available in the UK. Unless you want to waste your money DO NOT buy a Braun shaver!!!
Great shaver, but terrible service and quality control on replacement heads. Just look at the re-sellers bullying the prices. Braun needs to fix their inventory and make these products more readily avalaible.
This shaver never cut close in the 6 months of use. Takes 15 minutes to get a decent shave but stubble remains as my wife tells me. Went back to my 4 year old Norelco.

To get the best cut, we suggest shaving your face before washing along with ensuring it's dry as well. Be sure to hold the shaver at a 90 degree angle, stretching the skin and shaving against hair growth; changing direction as needed. Use a gentle touch and let the shaver do the work. I thought these cartridges were pricey when series 7 came out. Current prices are simply hard to believe. Are they thinking we are willing to pay any price? I'm not.
Replacement heads were impossible to find in early 2017, so I put my Braun Series 7 shaver in the attic and purchased a new razor. I liked the shave of the Braun better, so I was excited to see these replacement heads were back in stock and pulled it out of the attic. Braun recommends that they be replaced every 18 months. However, the foil started to take on a green color as if the metal was oxidizing, and the foil then developed multiple holes and ultimately separated from the head. This process took about 6 weeks, well under the 18 months period Braun implies they should last. The shave with the new head was not as good as the original shave even when it was brand new, and required me to go over the same spots over and over again. In that regard, my experience is very similar to others posting here, with the addition that the head failed catastrophically and became unusable after 6 weeks.
We never want to fail you in your shave with Braun so we hate to hear this happened with our 70S replacement head. It may be helpful to know that a Braun shaver foil and cutter should last between 12 and 18 months, depending on your shaving method, beard type and how often and well you clean your shaver. Also, your foil and cutter shouldn't be experiencing holes in it and we'd like to help. Be sure to use light pressure when shaving. Pressing too hard can shorten the lifetime and cause damage to the foil. If you have a thicker beard, you may be shaving longer each day which can reduce the lifetime of the foil. Hold the shaver at a 90 degree angle. Regularly clean and oil the foil. Proper maintenance will help prolong the foil’s lifetime. The 7 use to have a better screen that would take into account different hairs. I have hair that grow in different directions and thickness. Some hair stays close to the skin. This new design will not pick up most hair. Now shaving takes longer and I may have to reshave in some areas because it does not get all of the hair. The sad thing is that I don't have much facial hair.
I've been a long time Braun user. The past several months I've looked high and low for a replacement head for my Series 7. Finally finding one (and paying way more), I found the foil design has changed! It takes 3 times longer for the same shave!
When I initially purchased this shaver a few years ago, it came with a different foil. It had differing shaped holes which was a breakthrough in comfort and hair cutting. Having slightly sensitive skin and curly hair, shaving can leave irritation. When they stopped making the original foil and replaced it with this less effective one, the shaver started shaving far less effectively. I now have to shave over the same spots many times to get everything and I also have more irritations. To add insult to injury, they jacked up the price!
I was so happy with my Braun series 7 until I had to replace the foilWaiting for 4 months now. Just read some reviews on the new foils.Terrible reviews- from so many people.Could not find anything where Braun is trying to explain what is the root cause for either the shortage and qaulity problems. Look like they have accepted they are going down the drain.Sorry but if you cannot back up your product,maintain qaulity and provide spares your good name you had is in the mud.I will not buy a Braun again.
