This is a follow up to my previous review. Braun responded to my complaint with a number to call in. I called them and they handled the matter with complete professionalism. They repeatedly apologized and said that they would send me a replacement razor head. When I received it, it was of the quality that I expected and have always experienced before the last faulty ones. They explained that it's possible that a faulty one or two can slip through but if it ever happens again to call them and they will handle the matter. The Series 7 is a great product and I would still recommend it!

Wow Scared to Buy Braun Based On Reviews.

I was planning to purchase a Series 7 today however after looking at the replacement head issues associated with the reviews on this web site it might be in my best interest to stay with Norelco. What a shame looks like a nice razor. There are too many of the same comments of it not to be a real issue.

Poor quality replacement heads

I have tried two replacement heads in the past three months that are terrible. The razor now barely shaves and feels like it's pulling my hair out. It takes 4 times longer to shave my face. I'm not getting a clean, close shave like I was with the original razor purchased a few years ago and previous replacement heads. I used a new replacement in October that was bad, figured maybe it was a one time thing and bought another new one that is also terrible. What a waste of money. The quality of the replacement blades has gone bad - my experience is the same as the other reviewers. I clean my shaver daily and with solution once a week.

Worked Great for me!

I have to write that I do not understand all the negative reviews regarding the Series 7 Replacement Head. The new Replacement Head worked GREAT for me; brought my shaver back to smooth, like-new performance. It made a huge difference, and the quality of the Head is identical to the one when the shaver was new. I agree that the price is expensive (thus my low "value" score), but it did completely bring back the original smooth and close-shave like new. So for me, I recommend the replacement head.

Poor quality on day one

I wish I'd read the many other reviews before discarding my original foil. It fell into the (clean) toilet and rather than let it dry I discarded it since it was at almost 18 months and I had a replacement on hand. I've now used the replacement twice and the difference is stark. The shave is nowhere near as close, it took significantly longer to shave, and the neck in particular was very difficult to complete. I'm a loyal 20+ year Braun user but like others I'm now reconsidering since there seems to be no recognition on Braun's part that there's an issue. I shouldn't need to clean and apply light oil to a brand new replacement foil. These shavers aren't cheap by a long shot and I can't be buying a new one every 18 months.

Poor quality replacement...

I have purchased a Series 7 shaver after years of having a Series 5. The original head that it came with was fine, but after replacing the head, it skips and doesn't give a good shave any more. I tried cleaning the head both by hand and by the cleaning system that came with the shaver, and still having the same problem. I wonder why nothing has been done to fix the heads, since seventy-five people have reviewed the part and it has only received one and a half stars? It is too bad because I used to tell everybody to buy a Brain shaver to find out that the quality has gone downhill. It has been so bad, that I am shopping for a Panasonic instead, and that is what I would suggest other people do too.

getting the most out of your shaver head

Just to let you guys in on a little secret, I've had my series 7 for a long time and I'm on my 2nd head.If you removed the head to clean that's where the problem comes in. Do not remove the head,get you a small cup and add hot water to it and drop in a denture cleaning tablet to it and turn it on and stick head in water and watch the wisker hair come out. Do it several times and rinse. Do it only with good charge with out the electric cord attached. Removing and putting head back on several times will damage the foil. This is a great product.

Bad shaver head replacements

Hi - I have had a series 7 Braun shaver since the early 2000's and initially it was a good product. The shaver head did last the circa 18 months that Braun continue to state that it does. However in the last year, the shaver heads only last at most 2 months and cost a fortune to replace. The ones I use get a hole in either end after about 2 months and need to be binned. It is unclear if Braun are using cheaper raw materials, or someone has "re-engineered" the process to save cost - and at the same time alienate the users of their product. It seems that Braun need to rapidly go back to the manufacturing process they used 10 years ago, and get the longer life back into their shaver heads before more people continue to leave and not recommend their product. I will be looking for a new shaver as Braun seem more focused on profit than their customers. I hope someone senior at HQ reads these reviews, replies, and actually does something about it quickly Over to you Braun

We do want to share with you that your shaver foil & cutter should typically last up to 18 months, however, this does depend on your shaving method, beard type and how well and often you clean it. To ensure the longevity of it, we suggest oiling it with light machine oil from time to time. To prevent our foils from breaking or getting a hole in it, be sure to always use light pressure when shaving. Pressing too hard can shorten the lifetime and cause damage to the foil. Always hold your shaver at a 90 degree angle along with cleaning it after every shave. New Series 7 Head?

I LOVE mt series 7. After reading most of the comments I am not comfortable in purchasing a replacement head for my Series 7. Ove the years, I have recommended this razor to many of my friends, all have been happy with the purchase. What is the deal with the replacement parts? I am going look for a new razor from a different company. How difficult is it to make the same quality head and sell it as a part? WOW what a loss...

36 months and still giving perfect shave.

This razor is still giving a perfect shave after over 36 months on original foil. It is used daily or sometimes twice in conjunction with shave oil on my face.
