Trouble with Cutters

I have had my Braum Razor for several years and I have really liked it. But now, when I buy new Cutters and Foils, they will only last a few weeks before they start pulling and I have to go over my face several times before I can get a good shave. I really like this razor, but, if I can't get better service out of the cutters, then I am going to have to go to another brand.

Bad Foil and Cutter replacements`

I've owned my Braun 6520 Flex Integral razor for about 8 years, and liked it more than any other razor I ever used. I've replaced the cutter and foil 4 times during its life and gotten a great and comfortable shave every time. I just got the new Braun Series 3 31S replacement and from the first use it pulled my skin, didn't shave closely and was downright uncomfortable to use. I see from the other comments here that I am not alone. I will try to use my old foil and cutter for a few more months and if the design of the new foils hasn't been changed back, I will be looking for a new brand of razor.

Close shave, but pulls

I have had my 790 series razor for several years now. I have replaced the shaver head twice. I never had any problems with the original or first replacement head. However, the latest one I purchased has a tendency to pull almost every time I shave. This is not a pleasant experience. I love the close shave, but am not a fan of the discomfort/pain when it pulls a hair. I shave on a daily basis so this is not a case of going too long between shaves. I have read where Braun has changed the shape of the openings in the foil head and others experience the same problem with the new foil. This has happened right from the start of using the new foil, so it is not a case of it being worn out. While I like the close shave I am considering going back to my Norelco because of the pulling. I would be interested in hearing Braun's response.

Manufacturing change ruined my Braun experience.

I've used Braun shavers my entire adult life (20 years). They have always worked great. When my last braun shaver, after years of faithful service, finally gave up the ghost I upgraded to the series 7. The Series 7 did a great job for a couple of years but then the design on the replacement foil head changed. Before the foils had lots of irregularly shaped holes. The new design has uniform circular holes. I'm not sure if it is the shape of the holes, some other change that also happened with other components to the razor head, or a combination but now my series 7 feels like sandpaper on my skin and it literally takes the better part of an hour of running it over my face to get anywhere near the shave that the old design gave in just a couple of minutes. I managed to find an older razor head still for sale on e-bay and swapped the old and new designs back and forth to compare and it is definitely the new head design that is killing the series 7's performance. Unfortunately after using it for 2 years that last old style replacement head is pretty worn and it looks like I'll have to finally leave Braun to find something that actually works.

As you are aware, when you try a new razor for the first time, it can take your skin a little bit of time to get used to the new shaver. Worked great until

Like many others on here, I bought a series 7 because I needed something decent that would do the best it could for my face which doesnt shave easily. The first shaver head, was covered in random little holes to catch every hair on my face, however that design has been discontinued by braun, and now the heads have perfectly shaped round holes so they miss loads of hairs and it takes longer to get anywhere near what I used to be able to get with the new design. Braun customer relations can say time and time again that its just the face taking time to get used to the head. This is of course absolute rubbish. If i had wanted to get the shaver head i have been forced into, i would have spent less money and got a lower model. I most certainly would not recommend this shave to anyone, nor will i buy another braun shaver ever again! £200 wasted!

My Series 7 cutters last over a year

I have had nothing but good experience with my Braun Series 7 shavers (I bought a second one for a vacation home). My beard is pretty dense but they work well and easily last over a year. My only complaint is that the replacement heads are difficult to find in local stores.

new shaver design is horrible

I have owned my series 7 for about 5 years, typically I have to replace the head every 6 months as it is a pain in the butt to make 6-7 passes in the same spot. Dear Braun, I'm tired of having a sub-par shave, tired of having to replace the shaving head every 6 months, tired of having a irritated face after shaving. I'm going to buy a Arc5 as you have lost me as a return customer.

horrible design

like others have mentioned, the new design is painful to use. I have given up shaving my neck with the shaving head and use the trimmer instead. I liked this shaver, dont make me purchase a replacement from your competitors.

Inferior quality on foil/cutter Series 7 Pulsonic

This replacement foil & cutter block never did feel right from the first time I used it. Then after about two weeks, it actually broke into several pieces, falling off the razor. If Braun doesn't get back to the quality they used to have, I will be forced to look for a different brand razor.

Bad Foil and Cutter quality ..

Its been only 6 months that i bought the "Braun Series 7 790cc" ..I paid a good amount of money for this shaver and expected it to last a while .. i used to own a Panasonic shaved .. i have to say after using it for so many years it never broke apart on me.. the Foil and cutter of the Braun series & just fell apart in few month ..I do not recommend this product to any one.They have warrenty only for the shaver not for the foil and cutter. A $44 foil should have better quality than 6 months.
