Soft as silk

Received my elip9 today and let me tell you, it's just like waxing your legs!! I am a cosmetologist, and I have been waxing for about 6 years. Never have my legs been this soft! All the hair is gone! Lotion after to soften them more and you are done! No messy wax residue and you are not sticky! If you use it with warm water your pores will open a little and it will not hurt as bad. I will be telling clients about this nifty gadget for sure! The face brush doesn't spin in a circular motion, it just vibrates the bristles. The brush is soft, but can be irritating if not used properly. this product blows my mind! It is great. Very ergonomic, and the handle has glitter in for an added touch. Kudos to the creator for putting the light on it as well! I will never shave or wax my legs again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I completely love it

The silk-èpil 9 is very useful and multi purpose device. When I first got my device i just loved how exfoliation system liked and how it was designed. I could have a body silky smooth and my face fully exfoliated because of the different attachments it came with with. Also it doesn't Just get you smooth for up to four weeks it can also be a facial brush. This can be great for anyone. Also here's a hint: USE WARM WATER......IT WILL BE YOIR BEST FRIEND!! Pleasantly Surprised

This is my first review and my first real attempt at an epilator. I am surprised at how little it hurts. I had a cheaper one years ago but it was so painful I never went back. I usually shave my legs, but I have issues with "strawberry legs" my dark pores, my dark hair and my light skin all combine to make it look like my legs have stubble even when they are freshly shaven. Waxing has worked in the past but it is too time consuming for my life style. I don't have time to make an appointment, drive to a place and spend an hour getting waxed. I had heard great things about epilation and I excited when this campaign started because of the potential solution for these problems. I tried the Braun Silk épil 9 right out of the box! I left it to charge while I ate dinner and afterwards, I sat down and went against every bit of advice I 'd read on the web and tried it on dry , non steamed skin. Surprisingly not too painful. I did my lower left leg and let it be to see the results. Of course there was a hour or so of redness and irritation from hairs being yanked out at the root but by the time I got in to my pajamas it had gone down and you could tell hairs were gone, and the dark pores weren't visible. It did miss some of the shorter hairs but from waxing and web advice, I knew this wasn't going to be a one time deal. The next morning I decided to try it wet in the shower. Even less pain and much better hair removal. An article I read on wikihow suggested warm shower, exfoliate, let the warm water run over your legs and epilate last. That is what I did and the pain level was low. Still the issue of not getting the shortest of hairs, but the same article suggested epilating every other day for the first 2 weeks and then once a week there after. I am curious to see if regrowth slows. The improvement in my "strawberry legs" is noticeable. I tried the exfoliating brush on my face this morning. Nothing too exciting or different from other exfoliating brushes I have tried in the past. I could see if I was in the market for an exfoliating brush and an epilator this would be a good deal. The only reason this review is getting 4 stars is the design. I love the design of the device itself. There is glitter in the handle how could you not love it. I do however have a problem with the accessories. There are so many attachments and parts to get lost in the bathroom clutter it would have been nice if it came with a bag, or better yet some sort of storage stand to keep it in while it charges. Counter space is a premium in my bathroom (and we have a dual vanity I couldn't imagine where this would go if we didn't) and having a place to lay it while it charges it a bit of an annoyance. My boyfriends hair trimmer/razor comes with a stand that also has a place for him to keep the cleaning brush that came with it. If the Braun Silk épil 9 had something similar as well as a place to snap in the attachments, it would have gotten 5 stars. Even a travel case would help. I just have visions of digging around under the sink trying to find the cleaning brush or another of the attachments, giving up and never touching it again. It would also be nice if it was standing to dry somehow, especially when it comes to the exfoliating brush. Having it laying on the counter face down seems- gross(?) and there is too much potential for it to fall on the floor near the toilet- grosser. I have settled on using an old coffee mug to hold it up while it dries, but because the charge port is at the bottom I can't charge it while it is in there. Bye Bye Razor

When I got home from work today I had a package waiting on my front porch. I was so excited because I had been waiting for the Braun Aquila Silk-Epil 9 to arrive! This is my first bzz campaign and I've been looking forward to the experience. At first glance, this product can be a little intimidating- it has a swivel head with small tweezers covering a surface that spins- which is how it removes unwanted hair. It also has a brush attachment for exfoliation and several different attachments that can be used according to the selected area. I read the directions carefully, seeing how I was a little apprehensive about anticipated pain that could be associated by using this product. I decided to try what I assumed would be a "tough" area on my body, so I selected to remove the hair on my arms. I switched the product to the "on" position and the spinning tweezers started whirring. I placed the head of the epilator onto my skin, and to my surprise, the pain was minimal. In one stroke, I had removed an entire swatch of hair (there was fuzz flying). I continued this process until I had completed both of my arms. I love that this product has a very bright light attached to it that allows you to easily see the areas that you may have missed. My skin is a little red and irritated afterward, but the instructions state that this is natural and is the reason epilation should be done at night time. So far, so good! I'm looking forward to using this device again soon! Cheers to a hair-free life! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

21st century epilation!

Prior to trying the Silk-epil, Ive had bad experiences with epilators. They were bulky, super painful, akwarkd to get the intimate places and did not have wireless capability. Im tellin you this one is a game changer. I feel like they actually had women in mind when making this. From the glittery handle to the guide light this device is a joy to use. I like that you can switch out the heads for diff areas of body and it comes with an exfoliator! So once your in the shower( which is where i recommend you use it, warm water makes it less painful) youre ready to go no fumbling for diff products or parts. The only thing i didnt like is on the head attachment it came out of the box with there are little tiny spikes on the rollers beads. I have no idea of their purpose but could be done away with. Overall a great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Initial impressions

First, let me start by saying that I used to use the Braun Silk-epil 3, so it's fair to say I've had experience with epilators before. After opening up the package, wow! So many attachments and features! I had to read the entire booklet immediately. I love that it includes a bag. My previous one didn't, and I had to find an unused makeup bag to store everything. The exfoliator is a nice touch. It's pretty much a requirement when you're yanking out your hairs by the roots. Great feature. Another nice feature is the light on the epilator. It reminds me of a vacuum cleaner, lighting the way to make sure you get everything. Very cool. Why is the charging cord so freakin' long? The booklet says you can't use it while it's plugged in, for safety purposes, so why do you need such a long cord? Seems excessive and it a lot to try to pack back into the bag. I've already used it on the bottom half of one leg. Yes, it hurts. Yes, I wanted to quit. But after a while, you get used to it. It's no worse than waxing. Your body will become accustom to using an epilator. I'm too scared to use it on my underarms or face yet, but I love that it includes attachments to make that process easier. So far, I love this thing, despite the pain. I'll post another review after I've used it in various areas. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

First Impressions

I was really excited about receiving this product, we are heading out for a beach vacation this weekend and I had put off my hair removal routine to try out this exciting product. I had waited impatiently for a week, so without further delay I poped the box open, read the instructions and decided to give it a go. I plugged it in for charging and as mentioned it took one hour to charge completely. I am happy that I did not have to keep it plugged in for use, I have used the Philips Satinelle Epilator where I had to keep the Epilator plugged in while use and it was quite uncomfortable to work around with a dangling cord. I first tried on the exfoliator attachment on my legs and gotta say, I am impressed at how soft the skin on my legs feel!!!! Then I popped on the facial cap and had a go at my upper lips, it's a little tricky as the Epilator head is a little to big for the small upper lip area but after a few tries it worked wonders and got all the hair out! To keep the excitement going I deciede to do my arms using the high frequency massage cap and this is where I hit the roadblock! I tried using it wet, but all the hair laid flat on my skin so the Epilator could not work well, so I switched the cap and used the skin contact cap at speed II which is supposed to give a closer epilation result, this was a little better but it did not pull the hair out completely, hence, leaving small hair strands poking out of my arms. Due to the failure to remove my hair using the wet option, I cleaned out the Epilator and let it dry, after it had dried completely I used it on my other arm with the skin contact cap but this time I used it dry, though it was more painful than using it wet, the results were much better, it got out more hair from the roots but still there were a few strands of hair that were broken off and not removed completely. Using an Epilator can be quite painful but after a few uses the pain won't bother you anymore. The Braun Silk-epil 9 comes with four attachments 1. The high frequency massage cap- it's good for first time users as it is less painful; 2. The Skin contact cap- it's a little more painful to use this but it gives much better results as the Epilator head is in closer contact with the skin; 3. Facial cap- useful for removing facial hair and 4. Exfoliator brush- for exfoliation (not to be used on face). It also comes with a small bag for keeping all the attachments which is very handy for people like me who tend to misplace stuff. I will be using this on my legs and underarms as well and will post another review soon! I got this product to try for free from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion. Braun Silk epil 9

I received the epilator Braun Sil-epil 9 yesterday. Opened the package and immediately started reading the manual that came with it. I have known that using an epilator would be painful. Tweezing the finest hair off. So I was hoping to find an easier way of being pain-free. Upon reviewing, there were many attachments to use. Which I was happy about! I plugged in the Braun Silk epil 9 to charge for an hour. Then immediately started to get rid of those hairs... initially I was in pain but then a few more seconds into it the pain stopped. I was able to get through both legs, toes, arm pits just fine and quickly using the High Frequency Massage attachment and the Skin Contact Cap. There was a little irritation but it went away as quickly as it came. After I used the epilator, I then proceeded with the Skin Refinement Attachment. I think in the manual it says to use it before epilating but I used it after. It felt nice exfoliating and my skin felt soft afterwards. I have no prickly legs anymore. I would recommend the Braun Silk epil 9. #Gotitfree #BzzAgent #BraunSilkepil9 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Painful mediocre hair removal

This is my first epilator and let me tell you, I was really excited to try it. The Braun Aquila Silk-epil 9 is supposed to be top of the line. First of all, the instructions are confusing as it has contradictory information and a misprint on how long the hair can be (the instructions correct the length mistake later). First impressions of the machine itself were great, it has an attachment for first time users/sensitive areas, one for people used to epilating, an attachment for face, an exfoliating brush, and a bag to put it all in, as well as a charger. The epilator also has two speeds with an easy to turn dial. I love the glittery handle, it is a nice, feminine touch. I didn't do my research about how to epilate until AFTER I tried it, oops! First impressions? Well it hurts, but nothing I couldn't handle and I was determined to give it my best effort. I used the slow speed and the attachment for sensitive areas/first time users. I had read a few reviews about topical pain relief and taking Ibuprofen but I went without. I didn't even take a hot shower, I tried it cold and dry. I had grown my hair for about 5 days, the instructions say it can epilate hair from .02 inches to .2 inches of growth. I used short quick strokes as it hurt less (I read later that slower is better), after putting it down a few times because of the pain, I did the lower part of both legs in about 20 minutes. There was still a little bit of stubble (felt like about a days growth), definitely not as close as a razor. It is easy to use and easy to change the attachments, there's even an arrow on the heads so you put them on correctly. There is a light which really came in handy, I can't imagine using an epilator without one, it made all the hair really easy to see! I applied aloe afterwards as the instructions say apply moisturizer, I figured aloe would be good, which it was. I got red bumps on both my legs, which the instructions said might happen, which lasted about 45 minutes. My legs also hurt for about 30 minutes afterward. About 1 1/2 hours later I tried the upper half of my legs (which since it hurt earlier, I was not looking forward to). By this time I had looked up tips and tricks on epilating and I read to go slow and to epilate every other day for the first 2 weeks then twice a week after that until there is hardly any growth. Also, to exfoliate before hand to prevent ingrown hairs, which I definitely will do for my more sensitive areas (they are more prone to ingrown hairs). The upper half took another 20 minutes but this time I went slow and it still hurt (at least I was prepared) but it seemed to work better going slow, still not as close as a razor but better. I am going to give the Braun Aquila Silk-epil 9 another try in a couple of days on shorter hair, and continue using it every few days and I will review again in a couple of weeks. OK, so I was excited to try this epilator for an unbiased opinion. Love the fact that it is user friendly, meaning instructions easy to follow, all items I the package labeled and a nice bag to keep it all together. The different attachments make it easy to choose the best one suited for specific areas. The Exfoliator brush is nice and indeed makes a difference with the softness of the skin. I love the lighting feature which makes it easy to see what is happening. It is tricky to use in certain areas and can be painful until you get use to it. My initial impressions, I like it, despite the pain. I will post a more detailed review after I have had the chance to use it in various areas. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
